About the Work Heirloom tomatoes have been cultivated and preserved across generations. Their irregular shapes, unique colors, and imperfections tell a story of time rather than uniformity. When I photographed them, I wasn’t interested in documenting food. I was interested in how something so ordinary could carry a sense of memory and continuity. The tomatoes became portraits of individuality—each one different, each one shaped by its own history.
Artist’s Process I often work with everyday objects because they already contain stories. Rather than transforming them through digital manipulation, I isolate them from their familiar context and allow their form, color, and texture to speak for themselves. The simplest objects often reveal the most complex ideas when they are given enough space to be observed.
Series This work is part of my ongoing exploration of everyday objects through photography. Using ordinary materials, I look for images that exist between pop aesthetics and contemporary still life. My goal isn’t to elevate familiar objects, but to encourage viewers to see them differently—to discover beauty, meaning, and emotion in things they encounter every day.
